Perth Men's Convention '08

Hi,
Questions about ‘Manhood’ have been in vogue for nearly two decades. Gone is the “Marlboro Man” stereotype – strong, quiet, independent, Driza-Bone & Akubra. But what has it been replaced by? Sensitive new-age guy? Good-around-the-house man? Stylishly dressed “metrosexual” male?
Or forget the stereotypes, why don’t we just compare ourselves with each other to work out a real man is?
But is there such a thing as an authentic man anyway?
It’s not just our generation that is concerned about Manhood, God has always had an interest in it. At the very start of the Bible we read, “male and female he created them” (Gen 1:27). In the beginning God made a race of two sexes, male and female. And in his word we find what it is to be authentically human, both male and female.
